Here are some questions and answers about the Colleen and Court!
Q - Do I have to be a student at West Springfield High School?
A - NO! You can go to other high schools, but you have to live in West Springfield
Q - How old do I have to be to be a Contestant in the Colleen Contest?
A - You can be no less than 17 years old by March 17, 2018 and no older than 22 By March 17, 2018
Q - Can I be married and try out for the Colleen Contest?
A - Unfortunately, no! You can not be married and also not have a child.
Q - What happens after I submit my application?
A - Once you submit your application, the Colleen Committee will review the application and contact you with information regarding the Colleen Tea.
Q - Who judges the Colleen Contest?
A - The Committee President has the job of selecting the Judges for the events that day. The Colleen Committee does not meet the Judges until the day of the Interviews.
Q - If I am chosen as a Court member, do I have to attend all scheduled events?
A -Yes!
Q - What is the Colleen awarded?
A - The Colleen is awarded a $1,000 Scholarship, various local donations, the tiara that she is crowned with, an Irish knit sweater and memories to last a lifetime
Q - What are the Court members awarded?
A - The Court members are awarded a $250.00 Scholarship, an Irish knit sweater and memories to last a lifetime.
As always the Court members and their families are encouraged to help with events and work on the Float.
