E & J Landscaping
E & J Landscaping was started in the winter of 2003 by wife and husband (respectfully) Erin & Joel Rulnick. Since the start of the business you have probably seen the silver and blue trucks around town doing just what they set out to do...landscape. What you don't see when they are mowing lawns or plowing driveways are all of the other things they have done for the Town of West Springfield. As the parents to three young children, Kaleb, Sofia and Lucas, they know the importance of being a positive role model to children. They are active sponsors of various Park & Rec teams and were recently honored with the 2017 West Springfield Park & Recreation Special Recognition Award for their consistent contributions to enhancing the quality of life for the youth of West Springfield. As a business they have sponsored the Rotary Club Summer Concert Series, our own Parade Committee Golf Tournament and have been seen towing our float in the Memorial Day Parade and in the Big E West Springfield Day Parade. On both the business and personal level the Rulnick family has made yearly donations to the Coburn Thanksgiving Day Dinners, Toys for Tots, the Library Renovation Fund and every time a new Harry Potter book came out they made sure that the West Springfield Library had plenty of copies on hand for our young readers. Joel's words to any of the groups that he works with is "whatever is needed".
The Olde Mittineague Award is given to a business in West Springfield that goes above and beyond for the Committee and/or the Town, E & J Landscaping definitely fits that description.
